Studies have shown that these practices can turn on your relaxation response (parasympathetic nervous system) and have beneficial effects on your blood pressure and heart rate. Evidence also suggests they can also help balance your nervous and endocrine systems and boost your immune system.

This restorative practice allows your body to open deeply with the aid of props and attention to breath. Participants may choose to use a chair if it is more comfortable.
